BACHOK 24 February 2024 I Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP) emerged as the overall champion in the Inter-Sports Centre Staff Championship (SUPSAT) 2024, securing three gold medals and one silver medal.

Meanwhile, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), as the host, concluded the competition with two gold medals (in Penalty Shootout Football and Mixed Tenpin Bowling events) and one bronze medal (in Woodball), earning them the title of the overall runner-up in the SUPSAT 2024 championship.

Third place was secured by Universiti Malaysia (UM) with two gold medals and one bronze medal. 

The prize presentation ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail, at the Dinner and Closing Ceremony of the Inter-Sports Centre Staff Championship (SUPSAT) 2024, held at the Dewan Tuanku Canselor, UMK Bachok, last night.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Chairman I of MASUM and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) of UniSZA, Dato' Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Mohd Hafiz Yusof, as well as the Director of UMK Sports Centre, who also served as the Director of the SUPSAT 2024 Inter-Sports Centre Staff Championship, Mr. Wan Ahmad Khairul Bin Wan Ahmad Najib.

According to Prof. Dr. Mohammad, UMK, in collaboration with the Malaysian University Sports Council (MASUM), has taken the initiative to organize the Inter-Sports Centre Staff Championship, known as SUPSAT.

He described this championship as aiming to strengthen the bond and foster camaraderie among the staff of public university Sports Centres.

"UMK's commitment to woodball sports is evident through the initiative to construct a new woodball course. The UMK Woodball Course is the first Malaysia to receive recognition from the Malaysian Woodball Association and is the first in Kelantan.

"It is our priority at UMK to ensure that woodball sports are included in the SUPSAT UMK 2024 event," he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Mohammad expressed hope that MASUM would provide full support to UMK in carrying out responsibilities in other sports event organizations such as the MASUM Sports Carnival, MASUM Cup, and others.

"These competitions can be part of social entrepreneurship efforts to stimulate the local economy besides UMK community service to society," he said.
