KOTA BHARU 16 October 2023 I Over 300 job opportunities and industrial training placements are offered during the two-day MyCareer@UMK 2023 event, starting from 15 to 16 October 2023.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail, stated that the MyCareer@UMK 2023 career carnival provides opportunities for UMK graduating students, especially the third and fourth-year students, to explore not only career opportunities with selected companies but also to survey the industrial training provided.

He mentioned that the main objective of organizing this event is to assist university graduates in obtaining the latest information about careers.

"Furthermore, it aims to shape a pure character by emphasizing social ethics programmes, especially when they are in industrial training or at the workplace.

"There are five sharing sessions between industry representatives and students on various career development topics such as financial literacy, the gig economy, and 4.0 industry," he said at the opening ceremony of MyCareer@UMK 2023, at Dewan Keusahawanan, UMK City Campus, Pengkalan Chepa, today.

Also present were the Director of the Career Development, Counseling, and Alumni Centre, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Fadil Mohd Yusof, and the Dean of FSDK, Dr. Hasyiya Karimah Adli. Among the participating industries were Technoriant, Antbees, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB), and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

Additionally, support was provided by new industry partners such as the Recruit, Place, and Train (RPT) company operating in Singapore, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Resort World Genting, and The Grand Renai, Kota Bharu. UMK also received participation from Telco companies such as Maxis Hotlink and the insurance company, Ijtehad Group.
