100 PERCENT GRADUATES EMPLOYABILITY FROM THE FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE UMK

 

KOTA BHARU 9 November 2023 I Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) recorded a 100 percent Graduate Employability (GE) rate of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV) this year.

Vice-Chancellor of UMK, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Razli Che Razak, stated that the demand for the veterinary medicine profession is very high, providing job assurance in various veterinary specialties, whether in government agencies or the private sector.

He mentioned that this year, UMK has successfully produced 44 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine graduates, and this addition will help meet the demand for competent and reputable veterinarians in the country.

"Until now, UMK has produced a total of 402 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine graduates since 2014. FPV graduates have contributed their services and expertise throughout the country in the field of veterinary medicine, including in the government sector, statutory bodies, and the private sector.021224-04-03.jpg

"Meanwhile, 44 FPV graduates took the oath as Doctors of Veterinary Medicine and subsequently registered for Veterinarian Professional with the Malaysian Veterinary Council," he said.

Also held was the excellence awards presentation ceremony for 30 outstanding FPV graduates in academic fields at Dewan Keusahawanan, UMK City Campus, today.

According to Prof. Dato’ Dr. Razli, FPV has achieved various successes this year, including the success of the FPV through the international mobility programme, the Inbound Credit Mobility program with A’Sharqiyah University, Oman.021224-04-04.jpg

"I have been informed that a total of 29 clinical students from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme at A’Sharqiyah University have undergone a two-month study programme at UMK.

"FPV has also successfully organised the FPV Industrial Engagement Day and Veterinary Business and Entrepreneurship Symposium (VBES), bringing together players in the veterinary industry," he said.021224-04-05.jpg

FPV also celebrated its 15th anniversary and successfully organised the FPV Gala Dinner as a platform to recognise and appreciate the contributions and support of various parties who have collectively developed the FPV, including staff, alumni, and industry.

Furthermore, the opening of the Teaching Hospital for Veterinary Medicine at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan was officiated by the Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, YB. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, during his recent official visit to UMK.

FPV was also honoured as the recipient of the Excellent Faculty 2023 award, Piala Naib Canselor, UMK.
