750 ASNAF AND B40 UMK STUDENTS RECEIVE AID OF RM225,000.00

10 April 2023 I Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) took the initiative to allocate RM225,000.00 to support underprivileged students, specifically those from the B40 group and asnaf, in an effort to help them continue their studies at this university.

UMK Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Razli Che Razak, stated that the allocation for the assistance includes RM50,000.00 for learning aids and equipment to benefit 200 UMK students.

"Meanwhile, an amount of RM150,000.00 has been distributed to 300 UMK students as a study support assistance. Additionally, RM25,000.00 has been allocated for Internet Data Assistance, benefiting 250 students, with each student receiving RM100 for the purpose of purchasing internet data for online learning.

"The overall amount of RM225,000.00 for this assistance demonstrates the concern of the Malaysian Government and the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) towards UMK students," he mentioned at the Muhibah Ramadhan Iftar ceremony 2023 held at UMK Campus Jeli, Kelantan, today.

Also present were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Ts. Dr. Arham Abdullah, UMK Registrar, Mr. Khairul Eruwan Abdul Halim and the Director of UMK Jeli Campus, Prof. Dr. Aweng A/L Eh Rak.

During the ceremony, Prof. Dato' Dr. Razli also completed the Zakat Distribution Ceremony from the MK Welfare and Charity Body, amounting to RM75,000 to be donated to 75 asnaf students from the Faculty of Earth Sciences (FSB). The zakat contribution, under the FSB-Care & FSB-Industry initiative, was handed over to each student, amounting to RM1,000 for personal expenses.

Furthermore, Prof. Dato' Dr. Razli also presented the Ramadan Basket under the TNC HEPA Office initiative to five student representatives from UMK Jeli Campus. This contribution symbolizes the solidarity and empathy of the HEPA family for underprivileged students.
