KOTA BHARU, 12 May 2023 I A total of 1,500 students representing several Universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from around the state attended the Town Hall Madani @ UMK programme with the Minister of Home Affairs, YB Dato' Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, at the Dewan Keusahawanan, UMK City Campus, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan.
The “Jelajah Ikon Madani” Series at the Public University (UA) is organised by the Community Communication Department (J-KOM) in collaboration with Yayasan Prihatin and UMK as the second destination to explain Malaysia Madani through dialogue, which is a two-way session.
Also present, UMK Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Razli Che Razak, General Director of J-KOM, Dato' Dr. Mohammad Agus Yusoff, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Prihatin Nasional, Dato' Mohd Aizuddin Ghazali, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Ts. Dr. Arham Abdullah.
Town Hall Madani is also a purposeful programme that provides a platform for students and the local community to engage in direct dialogue on current issues, facilitating two-way communication that can have an extraordinary impact.
In addition, this programme also aims to develop and exchange ideas and experiences among the invited icons, including Islamic finance expert, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar, educational figure, Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar; Chairman of Malaysia Airlines Berhad, Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, world badminton legend, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Emcee Datuk Aznil Hj. Nawawi, singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza and celebrity entrepreneur, Zoey Rahman.
The first series of the tour started at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, then to UMK, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), UiTM Permatang Pauh in Penang and is expected to end at UiTM Shah Alam.
