KOTA BHARU 19 October 2023 I Students of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) strongly condemn the atrocities of the Zionist regime of Israel oppressing the people of Palestine in the Gaza Strip.

The President of the Student Representative Council of UMK (MMPUMK), Mohd Farid Zainal, 23, stated that around 800 students and staff gathered peacefully for the UMK Solidarity Programme for Palestine to express solidarity against the oppression by the cursed Israeli forces.

He mentioned that UMK stands together in support of the struggle of the Muslim community in Palestine, aiming to free the land of Palestine from the oppression of the Israeli military.

"The gathering began with a procession around UMK City Campus, carrying flags and banners in the students’ hostel area, ending at Laman Lamar. Also joining the gathering as a sign of unity were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail, UMK Registrar, Mr. Khairul Eruwan, and celebrity, Amin Idris," he said.

The one-hour gathering started with speeches by Prof. Dr. Mohammad, Amin Idris, and a representative from MMPUMK.

Before dispersing, the crowd recited the qunut nazilah prayer to pray for the well-being and safety of the Muslim community in Palestine.
