SOCIAL ENTERPRISE WORKSHOP WITH THE COMMUNITY 2024

 

PULAU PANGKOR 28 February 2024 I Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), through the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and the Institute for Poverty Research and Management (InsPeK), organised the Social Enterprise Workshop with the Community 2024 on Pangkor Island, Perak, on 28 February 2024.

According to Associate Fellow of InsPeK, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Hafiz Jamaludin, this programme aims to assist the local community in implementing social enterprise projects that are tailored to demographic factors. Exposure related to product branding, digital marketing, financial management, and product preparation are also given priority.

He stated that attention will be given to poverty-stricken groups through activities related to knowledge transfer, educational empowerment, and social development to address poverty. This will be achieved by conducting various successful research studies and knowledge transfer programmes using mapping and monitoring tools developed by researchers from UMK.

"The purpose of implementing this workshop is to assist the local community in carrying out social enterprise projects that are suitable for the demographic characteristics of the area," he said.

This programme also serves as a platform to showcase research products and innovations in imparting knowledge to the community in terms of producing social products for marketing.
