WHAT IS MEANT TO BE YOURS WILL FIND ITS WAY TO YOU

JELI 23 October 2023 I As the saying goes “What is meant to be yours will find its way to you”. Nur Ainil Nadhirah Murazmi, 20, is among the fortunate individuals after successfully capturing the attention of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) to continue her studies at UMK for the 2023/2024 session.

Initially, Nur Ainil Nadhirah felt hopeless and considered it as not being her fate to further her studies at the university after failing to confirm acceptance to UMK before 30 October.

Her mother, Noriza binti Mohamed Yaacob, 46, is unable to provide the required tuition fee as stated in the offer letter because she only works as a general worker (cleaner) at Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) in Kuala Krai, Kelantan.

However, with the concern and compassion of UMK through the Student Discipline & Welfare Section, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), and UMK Islamic Centre, she was finally accepted to continue her studies at UMK.

Noriza expressed feelings of gratitude and joy when UMK stepped in to assist in settling the registration fee, including providing accommodation for her daughter.

"Our family is grateful because Nadhirah received an offer to study at UMK. We are unable to provide the tuition fee as we have children who are still in school, and there is no other source of income.

"Thanks to UMK for understanding the difficulties faced by my daughter and providing facilities to assist students experiencing financial problems," she said.

She hopes that her daughter, Nadhirah, will study diligently, focus on her studies, and successfully bring home a degree to improve the family's life as much as possible. Nur Ainil Nadhirah has received an offer to enroll in the Bachelor of Applied Science (Product Development Technology) programme, Faculty of Agro Based Industry (FIAT).

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Mohammad mentioned that HEPA is always concerned about the financial problems among asnaf and B40 students who are unable to pay the registration fees for the university admission process. He said that some of the assistance provided to new asnaf and B40 students included financial aid for tuition fees (through the tithe of the UMK Islamic Centre), laptop facilities, madani menu (twice a day), and accommodation.

"Students who have received the offer letters but are unable to provide the registration fees are requested to report themselves according to the offer letter, as in the case of Nur Ainil Nadhirah. HEPA, representatives from the UMK Islamic Centre, and the Dean of FIAT will always assist these students, and today we have expedited the registration process for Nur Ainil Nadhirah so that she can register at UMK," he said.

He added that UMK always strives to assist students facing financial difficulties and hardships due to the inability to pay fees.

"Alhamdulillah, with this contribution, it will lift off some of the financial burdens for these students to start their studies at UMK. We want these students to fully focus on their studies to help their families.

"I hope Nadhirah will be able to improve their standard of living and move beyond the B40 category," he said.
