UMK ORGANISED FUTSAL AND NETBALL EAST COAST IPT CUP 2022

KOTA BHARU 3 July I The Universiti Sains Malaysia Kubang Kerian Branch (USMKK) Futsal and Netball team made history when they emerged as the champion of the Futsal and Netball East Coast IPT Tournament 2022, which took place from 1 to 3 July 2022.

In the final match, the USMKK Futsal teas defeated the UC TATI Team 1-0 at KB Arena Futsal, Pengkalan Chepa, and took home a trophy, medal, and cash prize of RM1,500.

The second place was earned by the UC TATI futsal team, and they took home a cash prize of RM1000 and a medal, and the third place belonged to the KB Polytechnic team and the UMK team was in the fourth place.

All Teams have displayed intense and thrilling action to win the 2022 East Coast IPT Cup futsal tournament.

Meanwhile, the USM Vulpes Netball Team (USMKK) also gave fierce competition when they succeeded in winning the Netball East Coast IPT Cup event, which was held at MSN Hall Jalan Telipot, Kota Bharu.

The USM Vulpes team managed to bring home RM1500 in cash, a trophy, and a medal. The runner-up was won by the Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) team with a cash prize of RM1000 and a medal. While the UMK team was in third place and won RM750 in cash and a medal.

A total of 12 teams from East Coast IPT participated in the second tournament organized by the Sports Centre, Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs), UMK.

The prizes were presented by the Director of the UMK Sports Centre, Mr. Wan Ahmad Khairul Wan Ahmad Najib to represent the Vice Chancellor of UMK.

According to Mr. Wan Ahmad Khairul, this tournament was held with the aim of unearthing potential new talents in the field of sports from these two events in preparation for the 2022 SUKIPT Tournament.

"This event is a continuation of the East Coast IPT Cup tournament that was held before and is the main carnival in the annual tournament in the UMK Sports Centre calendar.

The organization of this tournament is also to strengthen the relationship between UMK students and other IPT teams participating in this tournament," he said.

This tournament also received excellent cooperation from the East Coast IPT sports department in line with the University's desire to get students involved in sports at IPT level.

The UMK Sports Centre also congratulated Mohd Harris Rosman (best futsal player) and Nur Ellyana binti Mohd Nawi (best netball player).
