KOTA BHARU, 13 May 2023 I The UMK Men's Tenpin Bowling team emerged as the champion in the lively Muhibbah Tenpin Bowling Championship 2023 held at Lite Superbowl JB Mydin Tunjong, Kota Bharu, Kelantan featuring a total of 76 participants from 19 teams.

Teams from USM, UiTM, UMK, Matriculation College, Poly-Tech MARA College, Polytechnics, and Teacher Training Institutes from across Kelantan participated in this inaugural championship.

The championship aimed to strengthen the relationship between  the participating educational institutions in the state. The UMK team is lined up by En. Mansor Che Din, Mohd Nazree Bin Abu Bakar, Mohd Hafriez Aiman Ibrahim, and Amir Zul Fahmi Zulkepli, successfully recorded a total pinfall of 2,572.

The second place was secured by the USM Falcon team with a pinfall of 2,521, while the third place went to the UiTM Tenpin Bowling team with a pinfall of 2,406.

The UMK Tenpin Bowling team manager, En. Mansor, mentioned that the UMK team was represented by three teams, consisting of two Men's teams and one Women's team, in the championship.

En. Mansor mentioned that despite being organised for the first time, it received a positive response from all institutions for such a competition.

"The participation of the UMK team also serves as preparation for the East Coast IPT Tenpin Bowling Championship 2023, which will be held later this year," he said.

The UMK team also excelled in the individual category, with Mohd Hafriez Aiman securing second place with a pinfall of 681, followed by Amir Zul Fahmi in third place with a pinfall of 666, and Mohd Nazree in fourth place with a pinfall of 653.
