KOTA BHARU 22 October 2023 I The Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (KADA) was announced as the champion of Men Volleyball IPT and Invitational Tournament 2023 after defeating the team from Besut, Terengganu, in the final match held at Dewan Wameza, Kompleks Sekolah-Sekolah, Wakaf Mek Zainab, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, yesterday.
KADA successfully brought back prizes including RM1,500.00 in cash, a trophy, medals, and participation certificates after winning with a score of 2-0 in a fierce competition that lasted nearly an hour. Meanwhile, the team from Besut secured the second place, receiving a prize of RM1,000.00, medals, and certificates.
The third place was owned by the teams from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Prudential, each winning cash prizes of RM500, medals, and participation certificates.
The prize-giving ceremony for all teams was officiated by the Senior Director of Student Affairs, Assoc. Professor Ts. Dr. Muhamad Saufi Bin Che Rusuli.
According to Assoc. Professor Ts. Dr. Muhamad Saufi, the championship was organized by the UMK Sports Centre in collaboration with Ihsan Group Prudential Kota Bharu and Seri Kota Printing, involving the participation of 16 teams from Higher Education Institutions (IPT), government agencies, and industries.
He mentioned that the main objective of organizing this championship is to foster talent development in volleyball.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Men Volleyball IPT and Invitational Tournament 2023, Che Ku Nur Aida Che Ku Rahim, stated that this inaugural championship was organized to promote UMK as the host for volleyball sports events.
She mentioned that the programme also provides an opportunity for participating teams to identify skilled and talented players to represent their respective IPTs and agencies in other major championships.
