UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA KELANTAN RANKING 801-1000 ON THE IMPACT RANKING

BACHOK I For the first time, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) is ranked 801-1000 out of 1115 institutions of higher learning in the world for 2021 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking, announced on 21 April 2021.

THE Impact Ranking introduced by THE takes into account indicators that assess university achievement based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals introduced by the United Nations (UN) or better known as the 17 United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

UMK's performance in THE Impact Ranking is evaluated based on the best performance in the four SDGs where UMK showed encouraging performance in SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 15 (Life of Land), which is ranked 201–300 while for SDG 1 (No Poverty) UMK is ranked 301–400. Meanwhile, UMK is rated at 401+ for SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). While SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) is ranked 601+, and SDG 4 (Quality Education) is ranked 801+

The best achievement is a global recognition and a positive sign of the effectiveness of UMK's various initiatives towards becoming the world's leading Entrepreneurship University by 2030. This initiative is also in line with the Ministry of Higher Education's University for Society (U4S) policy which emphasizes that the university's primary focus is to contribute to the development of society.
