BACHOK 1 October 2023 I A total of 3,121 (as of 4:00 PM) new students registered for the academic session 2023/2024 at all three campuses of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) today.

Out of this total, 948 are male students, while 2,173 are female students who have enrolled to continue their studies at the university.

UMK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Razli Che Razak, mentioned that UMK aimed to receive more than 3,000 new students for the academic session 2023/2024 across its three campuses in Bachok, Jeli, and Kota Bharu today.

He stated that the registration process proceeded smoothly, and UMK received positive feedback from the families of the students who were excited to see their children successfully continuing their education here.

"The total number of student admissions is expected to increase as the student registration process is still ongoing, and registration counters will remain open until the evening to facilitate students who come from distant locations in Kelantan.

“New students will undergo the Student Orientation Week (Minggu Mesra Mahasiswa or 3M) starting tomorrow until 4 October 2023. UMK has also provided some assistance for students with financial constraints as part of the university's initiative to support less fortunate students," he said.

He made these remarks after welcoming new students, including those in the Persons with Disabilities (OKU) category and B40 families, at UMK City Campus, Pengkalan Chepa, today.

Also present were the University Board of Directors Member, Datuk Hj Zaluzi Bin Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Nik Maheran Nik Muhammad.
