BACHOK 4 November 2023 I Universiti Malaysia Kelantan celebrates a total of 2,839 graduates, comprising 25 Doctor of Philosophy recipients, 75 Master's degree recipients, and 2,739 Bachelor's degree recipients at the 13th UMK Convocation Ceremony.
UMK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Razli Che Razak, mentioned that this convocation ceremony also honours the Chief Executive Officer of KSK Insurance Indonesia, Dato’ Dr. Sharifuddin Abdul Wahab, who receives an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Entrepreneurship).
"In addition, UMK also acknowledges the recipients of university excellence awards, including the Anugerah Pelajaran Diraja, Anugerah Canselor, Anugerah Naib Canselor, Anugerah Keusahawanan (Kelompok Sosial), Anugerah Keusahawanan (Kelompok Komersial), Anugerah Alumni, Anugerah Dekan and Hadiah Akademik," he said.
According to Prof. Dato’ Dr. Razli Che Razak, as of today's convocation, UMK has produced a total of 17,824 alumni. He hopes that UMK alumni can contribute to the university in various fields for maximum benefit.
"Moreover, UMK has achieved success this year in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking By Subject 2024 announced on 26 October 2023.
“In that announcement, for Subjects Rankings 2024, UMK was listed for three top subjects: Business and Economic (801+), Engineering (1001+), and Physical Science (1001+).
"As for the achievement in THE World University Ranking, UMK is positioned at 1501+. The assessment is conducted comprehensively by THE World Rankings, involving 18 indicators, and the university's performance covers the fundamentals of teaching, research, knowledge sharing, and international aspects," he explained.
Meanwhile, UMK Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ismail, mentioned that in conjunction with the 13th UMK Convocation Ceremony, PESKOUMK’13 with the theme "Citra Warna" was also held, presenting a bit of uniqueness compared to previous years.
He mentioned that the concept of "Citra Warna" aims to promote tourism by showcasing the culture, clothing, traditional dances, and folk songs of Malaysia.
"Various interesting activities were organized to enliven PESKOUMK’13, starting with the Splash Colour Run, Malam Citrawarna, and Citrawarna Gegar Pesko. It became even more vibrant with competitions such as Pétanque (Double Open), Mobile Legend, Player Unknown Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBG), and E-Football (Pes Mobile), which are e-sport competitions," he said.
He added that PESKOUMK’13 also invited Islamic celebrity group Raihan, celebrity influencer Meet & Greet Iddin Ramli, a band performance by Masdo, Zamani Slam, MOQ Ex Search, and a lineup of popular local celebrities, making the event even more spectacular.
“He added that the event also featured the Malam Soladiriti Islam, Forum Perdana, Malam Tayangan Amal, Program Sukarelawan, Save Palestine Humanity & Dignity, Health Checkups, Dance Workshops, Dikir Barat competition, blood donation programme, talk shows, and reflexology sessions," he said.
He welcomes the presence of parents, students, and the local community to join in the festivities of PESKOUMK 13 with various exciting activities, explore food and beverage stalls, and participate in the events held.
