KOTA BHARU 12 January 2024 I Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) supports the aspirations outlined by the Minister of Higher Education, YB Datuk Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, and will implement them through UMK action plan for this year to achieve the outlined goals.
UMK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Razli Che Razak, stated that the aspirations outlined by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) are aligned with UMK action plan, particularly in the efforts to enhance higher education excellence.
He mentioned that this alignment is because higher education institutions play a pivotal role in implementing the five focus areas and 20 initiatives that are in line with the goals and aspirations summarized in the National Higher Education Strategic Plan 2023-2025 announced today.
“I believe that the vision and mission of the Minister of Higher Education are embraced by all members of Public Universities, Private Universities, Polytechnics, and Community Colleges to enhance the prestige of the nation's higher education with a spirit of teamwork and outstanding performance.
"Insya-Allah, these aspirations will serve as a catalyst for achieving the targeted objectives, namely the Provision of the Nation's Best Talent, Strengthening the Research and Innovation Ecosystem, Implementing a New Approach to Knowledge Transfer and Sharing, Internationalisation of Higher Education, and Enhancing the Enabling Ecosystem.
In addition, the MOHE has also outlined 20 areas of concern, formulated as 20 initiatives, resulting from interactions, discussions, and dialogues with various stakeholders, all of which are undoubtedly aimed at enhancing the performance and excellence of the nation's higher education," he said after attending a session with the Minister in conjunction with Landasan Hala Tuju Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT) 2024, held at Dewan Tuanku Canselor, Universiti Malaya (UM), today.
Also present were the Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Dato’ Dr. Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan, and the Board Members of UMK.
Meanwhile, a total of 250 UMK students and staff attended the live broadcast of the event at Dewan Eksperimental, UMK City Campus, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan, today.
